Top quality surf today….nah just kidding! Totally blown out from the WNW winds that are tearing into the coast today. Thunder and lightning storms are prevelent today and the ocean is no place for man nor beast people. Dangerous conditions!

Good day to stay at home and watch a DVD or go out for lunch at a cosy winery…may improve tomorrow so keep an eye on it.

Friday 30th May - Yallingup

Nice 3-5ft waves this morning with some fun banks around if you are keen to look. I surfed at Shallows this morning and got joy waves. Water temp is nice and the wind was E/NE contrary to what some other surf reports have said today…guess you had to actually be there to know that!

There will be waves right up and down the coast today with the pick of spots being Lefties, Big Rock, Guillotines, Bears and Yalls. Better get on it today lads before the weekend metro invasion begins for the long weekend…I will report on crowd behaviour and number during the weekend so stay tuned.

My advice for surfers visiting the area this long weekend is to remember that you are in someone elses’s back yard and show some respect and you will receive respect. Act like a greedy, snaking arsehole and you will get punched out!  We have our own way of doing things…let’s keep it peaceful and safe for all. We are out there to have fun and ride waves not piss local off or make a visitors holiday miserable.

Thursday 29th May - Smiths Beach

Bit of a change today with moderate SE winds and a swell to around 6-8ft. Surf reports on other sites have it wrong today…pays to actually go the beach and see and get your reports from someone who is really there instead of a wave buoy or cam!

I surfed Smiths this morning and got some great waves. The beachies are starting to form up well and some nice tubes were had. Yallingup was 6-8ft and a bit unsettled to be bothered with, lots of bombs on the head there today. Water temp is still nice but is beginning to chill a little. Full tides this morning so they will run out a bit later on this arvo too.

It will settle through the day and Inji and Inji Point will pump tonight and so will Yalls later when it settles out a bit, bring your paddling arms though…not for the inexperienced!

Worth a look everywhere today and I reckon there will be some good waves further south as well. Ok stop reading now and go surfing!

Wednesday 28th May - Yallingup

Had a look this morning but didn’t surf. Ugly waves today. WNW winds howling and a 4-6ft swell breaking. Not really worth the effort today lads. Will be worth a look at the points and bays tomorrow probably when the wind gets around to the south a bit more and the swell increases.

Tuesday 27th May - Yallingup

Stay at home this morning folks! Total NW pus and not worthy of even looking at to be honest. Looks like it may improve tomorrow and over the next few days but right now it is a good day to get some work done.

Monday 26th May - Yallingup

Looking pretty nice this morning folks! Clean SE winds early with a 4-6ft swell and some really nice clean waves coming through. Water temp is still very nice for this time of year but there is a chilly wind today early. The right hander at Yalls is producing the best waves out there today.

If you are wondering where else is worth a squiz then take a look at Bears later when the wind goes NE and down south at Lefties and Big Rock as well as everywhere in between as there will be some good waves to be had.

Crowd factor has been mellow lately too with a really good vibe going around in the water.

Sunday 25th May - Yallingup

Some great waves out at Yalls this morning with a 5-6ft swell running. A bit on the full and lumpy side however due to a very full tide at lunchtime today. Still, there are some nice peaks and there are some great ones to be had amongst them. Water temp is still very comfortable as well.

Pick of the spots was the right hander at Yalls today and the Bubble had a few as well. Later on will be good at Bears with an outgoing tide as will Smith Beach and pretty well everywhere! There was a HUGE shark sighted at Yalls last week so keep your eyes peeled!

Tomorrow is looking ok too for those who have the time!

Saturday 24th May - Yallingup

Not much to worry about today folks. Howling winds from the WNW that may go around to the SW later on today. Looking ok tomorrow maybe. Wild looking ocean at present and your best chance of a wave is at the bays and points of Injidup and Gracetown.

Friday 23rd May - Yallingup

Mate, it is HUGE today! Very wild looking ocean today with a 6.5M swell registering on the Naturaliste swell bouy. Yallingup looks to be at least 10-12ft, definitely some bigger ones as well, full bay close outs! If you are keen for a surf then the bays and points are your only option today. The wind is howling WSW and cold. The water is a place for the experienced only today.

This is looking to be the first decent winter swell lads so get out these amongst it a bit or at least get down the coast for a look. Water temp is still ok but will chill down a bit now with the rain and big swells.

Wednesday 21st May - Yallingup

A few smaller glassy ones early and I reckon that is about all you will get today. Looking like the wind is gonna shift and go onshore today and that means pus waves fellas! Get on it early if you can otherwise give it a miss. I got a few that were ok out there, nice and mellow though and waer temp is still quite nice but there is a definite air/wind chill these days when going for the early surf.

Keep an eye on the weather charts as it should pick up a bit over the next few days but will be at points and bays. That’s it, I’m off to work now!
