Hi Andris.
On days with more swell, perhaps try Injidup carpark. It won't be real big and is fairly gentle up to around 3-4ft. For injidup to be around this size, Yalls would need to be around 4-5ft.

When you stand in the carpak at Yalls and look out you often see a group of surfers sitting in the middle, this called the cove and is a far gentler option for those not familiar with yallingup and it's moods! Once you have that wired, then progess to the mainbreak.
Hope that helps you out mate...have a great time down here!
Peace.
Local lad!

P.S. Yes Yallingup can get awesome on a very low tide...depends on swell direction. Too south and it will be shutting down a lot..bit more west and it will peel and barrel!

Re your comments of 6 January (quoted below) - where should I go with a long board down in the Yallingup area if not our from the carpark? I've got a 9'2" board and i've been surfing at Isolator just off cott for the past three years.

Also does Yallingup work on avery low tide (like this Saturday morning coming? Thanks.

"Just a word to the wise. Lots of kooks getting out the back at Yalls presently due to smaller conditions etc…if you are not overly experienced…consider a safer option. Yallingup is renowned for picking up in a flash and there have been some collisions and stranded surfers out there already with bigger sets. Local surfers are becoming frustrated with people getting in the way and spoiling waves and creating a danger where there needn’t be one. Use your brains and select a safer break if you are just beginning or have only limited experience…

Okay my comment is a bit biased as I am married to the author... but let me say that this book is a fantastic introduction to surf lingo, the colours are beautiful and I have yet to meet a parent or child who is anything but obsessed with the book.

Books are the gift that keep on giving. Pick up a copy today!

A great way to teach the alphabet and new words
I'm sure kids will look back and remember it when they are all grown up.

For those without kids the book can still be enjoyed, turning the pages and seeing those great illustrations can bring a smile on even a flat day.

I bought a copy each for my nearly 3 year old niece and nephew and nearly 2 year old niece. A great colourful way to be introduced to the alphabet and as they live on the coast in NSW a great way to learn more about the beach and ocean.

The book itself is a hardback and the paper is of high quality - just what you want with enthusiastic littlies who want to turn the pages themselves, but don't quite have the whole 'gentle' concept down yet.

All in all an excellent read and definitely value for money.
Great job Chris.

We have given Alphabet Surf as a present to many of our friends kids, and they all think it is fantastic. The fathers in particular!
